Patsy Cline
As part of my (not so successful) #100 day project this year I did a portrait of one of my favorite country singers Patsy Cline. Here’s a little step by step of the watercolor portrait.

Reference photo. This was black and white but I had seen a photo somewhere of her wearing a red shirt so I went for that for the portrait.

Rough pencil sketch. The way most of my portraits start.

First layer of paint. I mainly used a slanted brush for this as I love the chiseled look of the strokes.

Finished portrait. Scanned and cleaned up in Photoshop.
Don’t hesitate to get in touch if you want to commission a portrait or want to know more about my work.
